How can I speed up my computer? My programs load very slowly.

There are a number of reasons that could cause a computer to run slowly or cause programs to load slowly. The causes and solutions are too numerous to list here.

How can I retrieve an email that has been sent into the "outbox?"

Outlook and Outlook Express send messages to the Outbox before they are sent out the recipient. If the program is configured to sent items immediately from the Outbox, email cannot be retrieved. However, the program can be configured to store emails in the Outbox until the "Send/Receive" button is pressed a second time. These messages can be retrieved and edited.

How can I stop Windows Explorer from puting thumbnail icons on my .jpg files?

Use Windows Explorer to find the folder that contains your .jpg files and click the folder once with the right mouse button. Choose "Properties" from the menu that appears. At the bottom of the resulting screen, remove the checkmark from the box next to "Enable thumbnail view."

How can I keep the icons on my desktop from turning into generic icons?

Desktop icons can turn into generic icons when the program that the desktop icon refers to is no longer present.

How can I move clipart behind text?

To move clipart, or any picture, behind text in Word requires two steps. 1) Highlight the picture and choose "Picture" from the "Format" menu. Under the "Postion" tab, put a checkmark in the block next to "Float over text." Under the "Wrapping" tab, choose a "Wrapping style" of "None." 2) Order the picture to "Send Behind text" using the drawing toolbar.

Depending on what your are scanning e.g. drawings, pictures, forms or writings; and what you want to do with the scanned images will dictate what software you will want to use.
